Ryder Launches Instant Roadside Assistance for Breakdowns Across Florida
A recent publication by Ryder System Inc. highlights promising outcomes from their collaboration with Tow4Tech aimed at minimizing downtime.
The Miami-based logistics giant is set to implement real-time roadside assistance technology throughout Florida, marking a significant milestone as Tow4Tech’s inaugural major client.
This expansion follows a accomplished pilot programme conducted within the state, according to insights shared by Tow4Tech.
The two companies plan to assess further deployment based on performance metrics and operational results in the upcoming months, as noted in their June 3 announcement.
Ranked sixth among North america’s largest for-hire carriers by Transport Topics, Ryder’s Dedicated Transportation Solutions division holds the fifth spot among truckload carriers.
“The initial phase of our partnership has yielded positive results towards our aim of reducing downtime and enhancing customer service during roadside incidents,” stated Jenn Dixon, Ryder’s VP of maintenance technology.
“Tow4Tech introduces speed and openness into a traditionally cumbersome process. Their innovative platform simplifies coordination for our teams when dealing with roadside assistance. We’re eager to broaden our pilot across Florida as they enhance their offerings,” she added.
Tow4Tech’s system links fleet managers and service centers with towing providers thru real-time geolocation tracking and automated dispatching features that streamline job management digitally.
“Together with Ryder, we are crafting a tech roadmap focused on improving efficiency while establishing a robust framework for future growth,” said Craig Schneider, CEO of Tow4Tech.
Tow4Tech was established in 2024 and has successfully secured $3.3 million in funding aimed at expanding its reach across North America and Europe. Recently, they raised $1.5 million in pre-seed funding lead by BrightCap Ventures from Sofia, Bulgaria—an early-stage venture capital firm keen on supporting innovative startups like theirs.
This latest investment will facilitate an expansion of heavy-duty towing services across the U.S., accelerate platform enhancements, and bolster Tow4Tech’s engineering team significantly.
The company is also launching its Romanian branch—Tow4Technologies SRL—which will serve as its European advancement hub for future growth initiatives within that region.
“Tow4Tech is revolutionizing roadside assistance for commercial fleets by injecting speed and efficiency into what has been an outdated process,” remarked Georgi Mitov from BrightCap Ventures. “Transitioning away from traditional methods toward a fully digital approach creates substantial value not just for fleets but also tow providers.” He emphasized that expanding into Romania allows them access to exceptional engineering talent crucial for scaling globally while paving the way for European market entry.”
Curbing downtime during road incidents remains critical cost-wise; modern solutions are proliferating alongside advancements in truck technology—from mobile repairs to transport-as-a-service models along with OEM remote software updates enhancing overall operational efficiency.
