Peter Kloiber Departs: A New Chapter for Gebrüder Weiss Leadership
According too a recent declaration from Gebrüder Weiss, there’s a meaningful shift happening in their executive team. After an remarkable 28 years on the Management Board, Peter kloiber (64) is stepping down. His extensive portfolio included overseeing Parcel Services, Logistics, IT, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Marketing and Communications, along with managing subsidiaries like Xvise and dicall.
Kloiber’s journey began in 1990 when he joined Gebrüder Weiss in Vorarlberg/Austria. He quickly recognized the importance of internal training programs for fostering long-term success and was instrumental in establishing them. His efforts have been pivotal in transforming the company into a modern logistics powerhouse. “Peter has been a trailblazer for our value-driven corporate culture that continues to influence our identity and strategic path,” remarked Wolfram Senger-Weiss,CEO of Gebrüder Weiss,acknowledging Kloiber’s remarkable 35-year tenure with the firm.
In an exciting development for the company’s future leadership, Peter Schafleitner (56), who has built his career within the organization since 1989 across various roles including sales and land transport management in Austria’s regions like Salzburg and Carinthia will be stepping up to join top management. Most recently serving as head of Product Management for Land Transport since 2024 after being Regional Manager for Central Region since 2017 highlights his deep-rooted experience within the company.
This transition also brings about a reorganization of responsibilities on the board effective July 1st, 2025:
- Wolfram Senger-Weiss, as CEO will manage digital initiatives alongside finance and governance matters while overseeing real estate operations related to Black Sea/CIS regions.
- Jürgen Bauer will led Land Transport Europe along with Customs operations and logistics consulting through Xvise.
- Lothar Thoma is set to take charge of Air & Sea Freight divisions while also focusing on Human Resources development.
- Peter Schafleitner,now responsible for Product Management Land Transport will oversee Sales strategies as well as Marketing communications including parcel services through GWP and call center operations via dicall.
