Prices for both bitcoin and ethereum opened at their lowest level all week, and prices are fading appreciably this morning as risk appetite wanes amid ongoing concerns in the Middle East that are keeping oil prices above $100 a barrel, and as a concentrated tech boom has rallied stocks:

The crypto losses reflected a broader cooling in appetite for risk, as renewed Iranian attacks in the Strait of Hormuz tempered hopes that shipping through the key waterway may return to pre-war levels, pushing Brent crude above $101 a barrel.

US stocks futures were little changed after the S&P 500 closed at an all-time high in the prior session. Europe's Stoxx 600 snapped three straight days of gains, while a recovery in bonds also lost steam, with the 10-year Treasury yield climbing above 5.3%.
