Turkish owner Ditas builds fleet with newbuildings and Union Maritime deal
Turkey’s Ditas Shipping has confirmed the construction of two methanol-ready newbuildings and the widely reported acquisition of a modern tanker from Union Maritime.
The Istanbul-based company announced on its website earlier this month that steel cutting has finished for a pair of chemical tankers at RMK Marine — a yard belonging to the Koc conglomerate, which owns Ditas.
The 12,000-dwt vessels, to be named T Florya and T Taraby, will be ready to eventually use methanol.
