Zamil Offshore taps Dutch design firm for shallow-draught DSV

For station keeping, the vessel will rely on a DP2 system, two azimuthing thrusters and twin spud poles. The poles will provide an alternative positioning method for shallow-water work, while the propulsion specification includes a diesel-electric arrangement for DP operations.

The 360-square-metre reinforced working deck will be used to carry heavy cargo. Offshore work will be supported by a knuckle boom crane with a 22-metre reach and a lifting capacity of 20 tonnes.

A dedicated diving deck and control room will accommodate a launch and recovery system, a remotely operated vehicle, and other dive support equipment. Five dry bulk tanks are intended to carry supplies to offshore operations.

The DSV will be designed to comply with American Bureau of Shipping class rules and the Special Purpose Ships Code. Conoship’s design approach will include a lightweight structure, optimised hull lines, stability work, and resistance reduction.
