ERMA FIRST FIT BWTS ANY VESSEL SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS

Press Releases

ERMA FIRST S.A. was established in 2009 by a team of experts with a strong background and solid knowledge in waste and water treatment technology for marine applications. Driven by the needs of shipowners and stricter environmental protection legislation,

the company started designing and manufacturing innovative BWTS. Having been successfully tested in some of the most stringent test facilities, ERMA FIRST systems are certified and have been awarded for technological achievement many times over the years.
Today, ERMA FIRST holds a strong position in the global market for BWTS. In a short period of time, the company has successfully worked on numerous projects in shipyards in China, Korea, Japan as well as other areas.

ERMA FIRST FIT BWTS incorporates the most reliable and efficient filtration followed by a state-of-the-art disinfection stage. Filtration takes place in either 40 microns automatic backwashing filters. The disinfection stage takes place in our own-design, highly customized electrodes, providing the appropriate amount of disinfectant agent by using minimum power and ensuring compliance.

VESSEL SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS
ERMA FIRST FIT BWTS has optimised power consumption, leading into a very low-level average. The power application is constantly adjusted according to the given concentrations of the in situ produced chlorine. At the same time, the high efficiency power supplies - along with the design and materials selected on electrolysers - reduces any unnecessary power losses. Moreover, 'same operational mode' covers all kinds of waters and IMO, USCG, Korean and Chinese regulations.

24/7 SYSTEM SUPPORT AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Extended service network in strategic points to support large number of installations worldwide. ERMA FIRST has fully trained representatives worldwide and large service stations in key areas including South Korea and China. The Far East is covered by ERMA FIRST Shanghai, where our Technical Teams with over 60 experienced engineers and technicians are able to attend vessels whenever required.

ERMA FIRST BLUE CONNECT
The ultimate alternative maritime power solution for high & low voltage shore connections
Plugging into an onshore power source through BLUE CONNECT enables vessels to shut down their auxiliary engines, as it covers their energy demands while at berth.

Cold Ironing
Cold Ironing is the technology that enables the vessel to shut down its auxiliary engines and get connected to the mainland’s high-voltage power grid. The vessel is connected to shore through the Cable Management System. The vessel’s crew rolls out the cable and the high-voltage plug-ins are inserted into the sockets that exist at berth. A power connection is established and the required power according to the vessel’s specifications is provided from shore to the vessel’s main switchboard. The system includes a power transformer that transforms high to low voltage and all the required switchgear to protect the vessel’s crew and equipment. The operation is controlled and monitored by the Shore Connection Main Control Panel. Power changeover supports shore-to-vessel synchronisation to avoid black out upon the connection. The system can also be integrated to a vessel’s AMS or/and PMS.

Introduction to Energy Saving Devices
The increasing need for fuel efficiency and environmental sustainability has paved the way for innovative energy-saving devices in the maritime industry. These devices focus on optimizing ship design and operations to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, contributing to a greener planet.

Boss Cap Fins
One of the most significant advancements in maritime energy-saving devices is the Boss Cap Fin (BCF). The BCF is a device that can be installed at the hub of a ship’s propeller and is designed to reduce energy loss while improving propulsion efficiency.

BENEFITS & INTERGRATION TO THE MARITIME INDUSRTY
BCF has been proven to improve the fuel efficiency of a ship by up to 5%. It achieves this by reducing the hub vortex, eliminating the energy loss from cavitation, and enhancing propulsive thrust.
Adopted by numerous vessels worldwide, the BCF is an example of the maritime industry’s commitment to incorporating energy-efficient devices into their operations.
