Diana Shipping locks charter deal for 177,773-dwt capesize bulker

Greece-based and New York-listed Diana Shipping, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has won a time charter contract with SwissMarine Pte. Ltd., Singapore, for one of its capesize dry bulk vessels.

SwissMarine Pte. Ltd. hired the 177,773 dwt capesize dry bulk vessel, New York, built in 2010.

Semiramis Paliou-led Diana fixed the vessel for a period until minimum January 15, 2026 up to maximum March 30, 2026.

The vessel is chartered to a gross charter rate of US$6,300 per day for the first trip of the charter period and US$17,600 per day for the balance period of the time charter. In each case minus a 5.00% commission paid to third parties.

The charter is expected to start on January 12, 2025, according to the company’s release.

The Greek shipowner said the employment of New York is anticipated to bring to the company around $6.03m of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
