Mitsubishi and Yourstand partner on EV truck initiative

Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Yourstand will introduce a medium-sized electric vehicle (EV) truck in March 2025 to reduce CO2 emissions in pharmaceutical transportation and delivery operations carried out by DP Network, a group company of Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation.

This initiative aims to achieve fully CO2-free logistics electrification.

An EV charger has been installed at Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation’s facility in the Misato area of Saitama, and an “eCanter” EV truck, manufactured by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, will be deployed to begin transportation and delivery operations to customers starting in March. Data related to vehicle range and temperature management will be collected to support future advancements.

Mitsubishi Corporation, in partnership with Yourstand, has provided a comprehensive charging solution to Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation. This includes proposing optimal charging locations, selecting chargers, and overseeing the installation of charging equipment.

The “Yourstand for Business” (YS4B) charging station management system will be used to manage the charging process, enabling integrated control of charging schedules, real-time monitoring of charging status and tracking CO2 reductions. Additionally, YS4B’s scheduling feature will allow charging during periods of lower electricity rates, ensuring cost-efficient operations.

The EV truck will be leased through Mitsubishi Auto Leasing Corporation, while MC Retail Energy will supply a renewable energy plan specifically for EV charging. As a result, all CO2 emissions from charging to driving will be effectively eliminated, contributing to a reduction in Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from pharmaceutical logistics.

Beyond introducing EV trucks, Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation Group is actively working to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the supply chain through its “MLC Green Action” initiative. This CO2 visualization and reduction service includes the “Emission Monitoring Cargo Route Finder”, an international route search and GHG calculation system, which helps identify and implement CO2 reduction solutions.

Mitsubishi Corporation is focusing on decarbonizing commercial mobility sectors such as logistics and taxis. Leveraging its extensive expertise in energy management, fleet management (auto leasing), battery management, and renewable energy, the company is driving electrification and decarbonization in commercial mobility by developing cross-sectoral solutions in the mobility and energy space.

Since its establishment in 2018, Yourstand has been dedicated to advancing EV charging infrastructure under its mission of “enabling cleaner mobility,” with a particular emphasis on “Base charging.” Since 2023, the company has been offering corporate EV charging solutions, providing end-to-end services, including multifunctional charging management software, as well as the design and installation of tailored charging infrastructure.
