The Greek shipowner Angelicoussis Group, led-by Maria Angelicoussis, has announced yesterday that a newbuild LNG carrier entered its expanding Athens-based affiliate Maran Gas Maritime fleet.
The newbuild ABS-classed LNG carrier, Maran Gas Kastelorizo, was added recently to the company’s fleet.
Specifically, the executive team of Angelicoussis Group’s Maran Gas Maritime (MGM) travelled late November to Okpo Shipyard, in South Korea, to celebrate the naming and delivery of its new dual-fuel LNG carrier.
“The LNG carrier features the MAN-MEGI propulsion engine, which allows for the lowest gas consumption and negligible level of methane slip among all dual-fuel LNG engines currently on the market,” the Angelicoussis Group said in a short statement.
This is not the only newbuild vessel that the company has added to its fleet portfolio. The Bureau Veritas-classed LNG carrier, Maran Gas Antibes, was delivered on September 20 to Maran Gas Maritime by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).
The Maran Gas Antibes, which proudly flies the Greek flag, is part of the Group’s larger order with SHI that includes four LNG dual-fuel VLCCs and three LNG
