GXO Logistics has opened a new logistics hub in Medini, Malaysia, expanding its operations across the Asia Pacific region. The facility is located within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, a key corridor for regional trade and manufacturing.

The new site offers Free Trade Zone benefits and access to major ports, airports and industrial centres in southern Malaysia and Singapore. Its location allows customers to position inventory closer to regional markets while supporting cross-border supply chains.

According to GXO, the facility will serve customers in the technology and advanced industrial sectors. It is already operating as a regional hub for a global supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Supporting regional supply chains

The Medini hub forms part of GXO’s expansion strategy in Asia Pacific. The company aims to provide businesses with greater flexibility in managing inventory and distributing goods across regional and international markets.

“Asia Pacific continues to be one of the most dynamic growth markets for GXO,” said Michael Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer of the Americas and Asia Pacific at GXO.

Jacobs added that the new facility would help customers improve supply chain flexibility and connect with major manufacturing and technology centres.

The company is also evaluating additional capabilities for the site, including emerging warehouse technologies. These could improve supply chain visibility and support closer collaboration with customers. However, GXO has not announced a timeline for their introduction.

Scott Copeland, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at GXO, highlighted the importance of locating inventory closer to demand.

“With access to Singapore and southern Malaysia’s key ports and manufacturing hubs, our new Medini site gives customers a strategic base to scale efficiently and serve both regional and global markets,” said Copeland.

The opening strengthens GXO’s regional logistics network as the company continues to develop its operations in Asia Pacific.
