CMA CGM announces congestion surcharge in Namibia

French ocean carrier CMA CGM has announced the implementation of a Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS) in response to the current situation in Namibia.

The surcharge will take effect on 1 February and remain in place until further notice. For shipments between Namibia and the United States, Latin America, and Australia, the surcharge will come into effect on 25 February. The surcharge will apply to all types of cargo.

For shipments originating from all locations and destined for Walvis Bay, Namibia, the charge will be US$250, €250, or GB£205 per TEU. For shipments originating from Walvis Bay and destined for all locations, the surcharge will be US$100 or €100 per TEU.
